Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of the website sealedlight.com, the SealedLight waitlist and the Founding 100 offer. The SealedLight vault service is not yet available. Separate terms of service will apply to the vault, and you will be asked to accept them before you can use it.

2. Acceptance
By using the website or joining the waitlist, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
3. Eligibility
You may join the waitlist by submitting your email and agreeing to receive early-access updates.
4. The waitlist
4.1 Joining the waitlist is free and does not create a contract for the SealedLight vault service, and does not oblige you to buy anything.
4.2 Your place is confirmed only once you click the confirmation link in our email.
4.3 Early access is currently expected to open in January 2027. Dates, features and plans described on the website show how SealedLight is intended to work at launch and may change. We will tell waitlist members about significant changes.
4.4 You can leave the waitlist at any time by unsubscribing or emailing hello@sealedlight.com.
4.5 We may remove entries that are false, duplicated, automated or that breach these Terms.
5. Free trial, planned pricing and Founding 100 offer
5.1 Who qualifies: the first 100 people who join the waitlist and confirm their email address, in order of confirmation as recorded by our systems. One place per person; multiple or false email addresses do not qualify.
5.2 What you receive: SealedLight Plus free of charge for 12 months, starting when your early-access account is activated; a "Founding member" badge; and priority invitation when early access opens.
5.3 No payment and no automatic conversion: no payment details are needed for the Founding 100 offer. When the 12 months end, you choose a plan. If you don't, your vault stays safely stored and your release instructions keep working; you just can't add new items until you subscribe. You will never be moved to a paid plan or charged without your explicit agreement.
5.4 The offer is personal. It cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for money.
5.5 If the SealedLight vault does not launch, or launches without the Plus plan, the offer lapses without compensation. We will tell you by email. Your statutory rights are not affected.
5.6 We will tell you by email whether you have a founding place, including your founding number.
5.7 Standard free trial: 1 month free with full Plus features. No card needed to start. This is a time-limited trial, not a permanent Free plan. Qualifying Founding 100 members receive the 12-month Plus offer in section 5.2 instead of the standard 1-month trial.
5.8 Planned paid plans: Planned until launch: Plus at €4.99/month or €49/year; Legacy at €9.99/month or €99/year, with crypto handover, unlimited nominees and extended storage. These are planned prices and features, not currently available paid subscriptions. Final launch terms will be provided before you choose a paid plan.
5.9 Trial reminders and expiry: We remind you 7 days before your trial ends. You're only charged if you choose a plan. After the free trial: You choose a plan. If you don't, your vault stays safely stored and your release instructions keep working; you just can't add new items until you subscribe. The same storage and release protections apply after the Founding 100 offer expires.
6. Using the website
You agree not to:
- use the website unlawfully or to harm others;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, accounts or data;
- send spam, automated submissions or malicious code;
- copy, scrape or reuse the website's content or design for commercial purposes without our permission.
Do not send passwords, crypto keys, identity documents or other sensitive information through the contact form. The website is not a vault.
7. Intellectual property
The SealedLight name, logo, texts, designs and software on the website belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may view and share pages for personal, non-commercial purposes.
8. Not a will and not legal advice
SealedLight is not a legal will, does not replace one, and does not provide legal, financial or tax advice. Information on the website is general. For a valid will or estate planning, consult a qualified lawyer or notary.
9. Liability
9.1 We provide the website with care, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available or free of errors.
9.2 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including liability for harm caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life or health, or your rights as a consumer.
9.3 Subject to 9.2, we are not liable for indirect losses arising from use of the free website or waitlist.
10. Links to other websites
We are not responsible for the content of external websites linked from ours.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The current version is always on this page with its "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be announced to waitlist members by email.
12. Governing law and disputes
12.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic.
12.2 If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
12.3 Out-of-court dispute resolution for consumers: the competent body in the Czech Republic is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce), Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Praha 2, www.coi.cz. We are willing to take part in such proceedings.
